In October, Shalom Austin Women’s Philanthropy held meaningful giving society events for the Lions of Judah and Pomegranate Society.
The Lions of Judah, chaired by Lauren Halpern and Phil Loewy, welcomed Rabbi Ed Feinstein into Halpern’s home October 4. He shared an inspirational message and reminded everyone to “be a blessing.”
There are currently 88 women contributing $5,000 or more to the Shalom Austin Annual Campaign, with a cumulative impact of over $800,000. The event also celebrated Lecia Sud, our community’s recipient of the Kipnis-Wilson Friedland Award, a prestigious and internationally recognized Lion of Judah award.
The Pomegranate Society, chaired by Julie Franklin and Brooke Zigler, hosted their kickoff event at Neiman Marcus October 11. This Women’s Philanthropy giving society is made up of 127 women who contribute $1,800 to $4,999 to the Shalom Austin Annual Campaign. Cumulatively, the Pomegranate Society contributes more than $250,000 to support needs in Austin, Israel and across the Jewish world.
Thank you to Neiman Marcus, Maggie Louise Confections, Alice and Olivia, and the fabulous Pomegranate Society chairs for making the Fall Pomegranate Society Event, Fashion, Fun and Philanthropy, a huge success. ■
