Yesod: Leadership Development Program Coming to Shalom Austin in 2019
Those looking to take the next step as Jewish community leaders are invited to take part in a nine-session course from January through May.
Yesod, Hebrew for “foundation,” is a collaboration between The Mandel Center for Leadership Excellence at the Jewish Federations of North America and the Florence Melton School of Adult Jewish Learning. Beginning in 2019, Shalom Austin will host this innovative program to build a pipeline of excellent volunteer leadership through hands-on training and leadership skill development, framed and inspired by Jewish texts.
Yesod is designed for individuals with leadership experience who are currently serving in Jewish communal leadership roles and who have the capacity and desire to serve in senior leadership roles. The thought-provoking and practical curriculum will include topics such as “Your Personal Journey to Leadership,” “Nurturing Vision,” and “Inspired Communication.” This endeavor to strengthen our abilities will be inspiring and impactful.
Rachel Stern, Shalom Austin’s chief learning and engagement officer, and Alachua Nazarenko, Shalom Austin’s leadership engagement coordinator, will facilitate the program. Registration opens Tuesday, Dec. 11, at shalomaustin.org/yesod and the kick-off session will be Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2019.
Participation cost is $250. There are a limited number of spots available. For questions, contact Alachua Nazarenko at 512-735-8052 or firstname.lastname@example.org. ■
