Austin Jewish Business Network Features Talent Matchmaker

By Jennifer Lava

Austin Jewish Business Network’s next speaker and networking event will feature Helene Barnett, eStaff’s recruiting director, who will present “Do You Need a Talent Matchmaker?” The event will be held May 15 at the Frisco Diner.

Barnett will discuss how to match and find the perfect job, how looking for a job is very much like looking for a relationship, what recruiters and managers look for in a resume, using LinkedIn when looking for a position, interviewing techniques and how to land a job.

With more than 25 years experience in recruiting, Barnett sees herself as a “talent matchmaker.” As recruiting director for eStaff, she works with companies throughout the country to find contract, contract-to-hire and full-time opportunities.

Barnett loves her job and enjoys helping others. As an example, Helene has volunteered her time generously to AJBN members for many years.

AJBN invites to the event all Jews, those partnered with Jews and Shalom Austin members. AJBN welcomes people in all fields and professions, people hiring, people looking for work, people providing services, entrepreneurs, those who work for others, those new in town and who have been living in Austin for years. Bring business cards, promotional materials or resumes to share.

AJBN’s monthly networking and educational meetings are on the third Tuesday of each month from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Frisco Diner, 6801 Burnet Road, in the glass atrium on the Burnet Road side of the building.

AJBN does not charge an entrance fee, but attendees are required to order a meal, not just a drink or dessert, while enjoying an evening of networking, education, camaraderie and door prizes. The Frisco is an Austin original, has a great menu and serves alcohol. There will be table service and separate checks. Attendees are asked to generously tip the staff.
