Jewish National Fund recently named Randy Maltz as its new Senior Campaign Executive for the Southwest. In this new capacity, he will be instrumental in helping Jewish National Fund connect the Central Texas community to the land and people of Israel by supporting unique projects that will continue to enhance the lives of Israelis for many generations to come. Maltz joins Jewish National Fund following a 25-year history as a sales executive in the distribution, technology and healthcare industries.
“I am thrilled to have the opportunity to increase awareness of Jewish National Fund’s work in Israel throughout Central Texas,” said Maltz. “It’s a privilege to join a team of professionals and lay leaders across the country that is committed so deeply to aiding and developing communities across Israel and helping the country thrive in revolutionary ways. Jewish National Fund is about so much more than trees and our Blue Box, and I look forward to sharing our seven core areas of focus with the community.”
Maltz’s connection to Jewish National Fund stems from a strong Jewish identity and love for Israel passed down by his family for generations. His grandfather, Marcus Levinson, was a devoted Zionist and Jewish activist who was an honorary chairman of Jewish National Fund, a national executive board member of ZOA for more than 24 years, and a founder of Camp Young Judaea - Texas, among many other honors. His grandfather became close to then Congressman Lyndon B. Johnson, who helped him acquire aircraft and ammunition to aid the early Israeli military.
“We are thrilled for Randy to join Jewish National Fund’s professional team,” said Reagan Weil, Jewish National Fund’s executive director of the Southwest. “His commitment to Israel, and vast network throughout Central Texas, will allow Jewish National Fund to engage Israel supporters throughout the region.”
An active member of his community, Maltz currently serves as the vice president of membership for Congregation Agudas Achim. He is a fifth generation Texan who has lived in Austin for more than 25 years, by way of Corpus Christi and Beaumont. He enjoys spending his free time with his family and friends, including his two daughters, exercising at the Jewish Community Center, watching his favorite sports teams, attending synagogue services, and serving on the Alumni Board of Sigma Alpha Mu fraternity at the University of Texas. ■
