The much-anticipated community event, “A Day at the J,” held on Friday, August 24, officially kicked off the JCC Early Childhood Program’s 2018-2019 school year. Parents and children enjoyed reconnecting after JCamps and vacations as they schmoozed with Shalom Austin staff, tried vendor programs like Ballet Austin @ the J, Kim’s Gym, Lil’ Dragons, and Soccer Shots, talked with Kids Connection and Austin Jewish Academy staff, and lots more! ECP educators and grandparents were also in attendance and everyone enjoyed tasty treats from L&L Catering and Pizza Day – both are offered during the school year. Sara Kaye, the ECP music educator and coordinator of PJ Library-sponsored Shabbat ‘N’ Play, led a very interactive Tot Shabbat as everyone rounded out their morning fun with hugs and smiles. ■
