Jewish Foundation Accepting Grant Applications for Jewish Community Support Programs
By MariBen Ramsey
The Jewish Foundation of Austin and Central Texas is a branch of Shalom Austin with a mission to serve as a center for Jewish philanthropy. The Foundation accomplishes this by partnering with donors and community organizations to fulfill their philanthropic goals and to sustain a vibrant and secure Jewish community now and in perpetuity.
The Jewish Community Endowment Fund is held by the Austin Community Foundation and is intended to support and enhance the Jewish community of Austin and Central Texas. Shalom Austin, through the Jewish Foundation, directs the award of available endowment fund dollars.
The Jewish Foundation is pleased to offer this inaugural opportunity for funding through the Jewish Community Endowment Fund. The Jewish Foundation intends to make a total of $4,000 in awards in this funding cycle to at least two eligible organizations.
The purpose of the Jewish Community Endowment Fund grants is to fund programs and projects that support or enhance the Jewish community of Austin and Central Texas.
Funding from the Jewish Community Endowment Fund Grants is limited to organizations that are recognized as a 501(c)(3) tax exempt by the IRS and organizationally independent of Shalom Austin. Funds are not available for educational scholarships or gifts to endowments. Grants will be limited to one per organization, only one per Tax ID number.
To apply for a Jewish Community Endowment Fund grant, complete the grant application form at shalomaustin.org/foundationgrants. Applications are due Oct. 15, 2018. Awards are expected to be announced on or before Dec. 1, 2018. ■
