The Austin Chapter of Hadassah held their board installation Jan. 29 in the home of David and Kelly Finkel. The installation was directed by Rachel O’Brien, past president and current Hadassah Regional Board treasurer.
The slate of officers includes Deborah Hart Roberson, president; Michelle Feibus, vice president of programming; Loren Paeglis and Lori Kline, co-vice presidents of membership; Julie Van Keer, treasurer; Patricia Vojack, recording secretary; Lisa Zeevi, communications secretary; Enid Libster, records administrator; and Jenn Siegel and Sandi Bilarsky, co-chairs of cards and certificates.
The program included highlights of a Hadassah-led trip to Israel featuring a trip to Meir Shefaya Youth Aliyah Village, a residential agricultural school for orphans and at-risk youth. The children and teens are taught agricultural skills including caring for an orchard and producing and marketing wine. In honor of this winery, the group hosted the wine steward from the H-E-B Far West Kosher Store wine shop as he presented four options of Kosher wine for a tasting.
The next Hadassah meeting will be held Tuesday, March 26, at 7 p.m. in the Congregation Agudas Achim multipurpose room, on the second floor of the Shalom Austin Educational Building. The meeting will feature a mini-TED style slate of speakers. RSVP to email@example.com or firstname.lastname@example.org. ■
