In April, at the home of Andrea and Walter Kalmans, the Shalom Austin Jewish Foundation hosted its annual Fundholder Appreciation Event. Joel Levine and Diane Radin, Cabinet co-chairs, provided a year in review and also welcomed Dirk Bird, Jewish Federations of North America community consultant, to speak about the power of legacy giving.

The list of fundholders continues to grow, with nearly 50 donor-advised funds, a variety of agency funds that include designated funds and congregations funds with several commitments in the works. Additionally, there are 11 Forever Lions and two PACEs (endowed gifts for the Shalom Austin Annual Campaign), as well as a growing number of other legacy commitments.

The Jewish Foundation helps sustain a vibrant and secure Jewish community, now and for future generations. Guided by Jewish values and the individual interests of donors and organizations, the Foundation provides an opportunity to make a lasting impact through philanthropy in the name of the Jewish community, at home in Austin and around the world. ■
